Lopar, island Rab

Lopar or sand paradise, as locals like to call it, is truly a paradise on earth for several reasons. The place with the most sandy beaches on the Adriatic - 22 of them, the most famous is Paradise Beach, winner of many awards for the most beautiful beach in Croatia and the world according to CNN. Many smaller, hidden coves in Lopar will make you fall in love with it and come back here again. Lopar is an ideal vacation spot for families with small children due to the safe, warm and shallow sea. Also, the diverse offer of sports activities, sea toys and various pastimes will delight the slightly older ones.

If you want to spend an active vacation, we recommend that you walk through the Geopark and explore the geological sights of Lopar, but also to walk along the Premužić trail and explore the rich archaeological and sacral heritage of Lopar. Four beautiful sacral buildings that exude a rich cultural and historical heritage will leave you breathless, and they are: the church of St. John the Baptist, the church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the church of St. Nicholas and the chapel of St. Roko. The patron saint of Lopar is Saint Marin, originally from Lopar, who according to legend sailed to Italy and founded the Republic of San Marino there.

Lopar is surrounded by numerous islands that are ideal for day trips, exploration but also swimming in the beautiful and clean sea. Goliotok is an unavoidable excursion destination - in the past it was known as the largest penitentiary in the former Yugoslavia, and today it arouses the interest of many visitors because of the visible remnants of its past who like to call it the Croatian Alcatraz. The nearby SvetiGrgur will attract you to the bays surrounded by dense greenery and when walking around the island you will often meet friendly deer and roe deer that live there and are in a very friendly mood. The islet of Lukovac is located not far from Paradise Beach, so you can swim to it, and it is interesting that a fortress was found on the islet that served to defend Lopar in the past.

Island Rab

The island of Rab is located in the Kvarner Bay in the northern Adriatic, and is a real paradise for lovers of nature and authentic island atmosphere. The Romans called it Felix Arba or "Happy Island" in ancient times. Even today, visitors are attracted by the wonderful nature of the island, from the stunning hidden coves on the Kalifront peninsula to the preserved holm oak, fertile valleys and the mountain peak Kamenjak from which you can enjoy the beautiful sunset overlooking the old town of Rab.

You will recognize the town of Rab by its four bell towers, whose streets and squares are bursting with rich culture and history. We recommend that you visit the Rab Fair, a medieval festival that takes place from 25 to 27 July. The festival shows how people used to live, and through numerous workshops and dressed participants you will create a faithful depiction of life on Rab in the Middle Ages. The clear sea of Rab has been attracting many tourists to this island for more than 120 years. If you enjoy a more active vacation and want to try yourself in another activity besides swimming, you will find numerous bike trails where you can explore the island of Rab.
